What's not told is that some people should not have guns, and there are a number of laws in place to achieve that.
To that end, people should have training with weapons so they can suppress the adrenaline rush and think clearly in an intense situation. That is where the breakdown happens. Civilians with a concealed carry license routinely have more weapon training than police officers because 1. the standards for a civilian carry is higher and 2. a civilian that wants one will likely be an enthusiast who would go for the higher training of their own free will.
You yourself are glamorizing guns, just in the opposite fashion, using old rhetoric to deny people them.
I support sensible gun ownership by sensible people who have the faculty to do so.
You are supporting the honest citizen being denied something a criminal can, and will, use no matter what law is passed, and that is the problem to me.
