I'm a newb when it comes to wigs. so would /cgl/ be kind enough to provide me some general styling tips i.e. products to use, cutting, separating layers etc. and care tips for cosplay wigs?

My tip is Motions oil sheen or anykind of spray oil sheen.

If a wig is getting flighty or tangled then a very light spray will keep the flyaways down and also provide a little lubrication to get tangles out and keep them from happening so much.

Also have some cute Nero.

Will this work on really long wigs to keep them manageable? I know about braiding them when not in use, but they still get tangled.

yes it works on long wigs. I have a butt length wig it does well on. It's made of Elora.
