Dear /cgl/,

Have you ever been good friends with someone only to be completely back-stabbed by them? Even worse, did they make costumes afterward from the anime/manga series that you introduced them to?

I can't be the only one...

Yes. Good friends with her for a couple years. Went to theme parks, gatherings, etc.... but she slowly showed her true colors(i.e. a complete nutbag) and I got sick of being her stepping stone. Haven't spoken to her in a year and I'm better off in the long run. Made new friends, started dating a wonderful guy, and I get to keep working on improving my cosplays.

I made my ex a costume so we could do a couples cosplay together...and then he ditched me for another girl wearing the same costume as me at the con. He apologized, but if he was truly sorry he would have paid me the money for materials by now. Which he hasn't.

My friend has a kickass sewing machine which she never uses and instead borrows my costumes and alters them so they fit her. Doesn't bother me though, they are my old costumes my newer costumes look 100x better :P

I do get kind of pissed that he tells people that his (current) girlfriend helped him make the costume, when she had absolutely nothing to do with it, and that he lied to a bunch of people about our breakup, and that he doesn't shut the fuck up about how wonderful his new girlfriend is if I happen to be around (we have lots of mutual friends; shitsux), oh, and spreading rumors and shit.

I may or may not have backstabbed someone, but I had a good reason. She was a goddamn leech, monetarily and emotionally and my friends and I had had enough of her. She also screwed one of my friends over, used her for money and everything and one day basically said, "I don't like you anymore, gtfo."

I just stopped talking to her because she showed her true colours and it wasn't pretty.

It doesn't bother me that someone likes and/or cosplays a series I introduced them to. I get annoyed, however, when they suddenly develop an obsession over it. Like they have to be the better fan or something. It's not a competition.
