>>1444209You should try being in the south west. We've got *nothing*. At least in the midlands and north you're close by to yearly Ame/Aya. In the East, London may suck but at least you can get to it easily. Us West-country folk? We've got fucking nothing, and it's a pain in the arse for us to travel across the entirity of London for things like Expo and this.
Ahem.
As far as the ball goes... meh. Considering how much it'd cost in total (ticket for the ball, travelling all across from one side of the country to the other, plus going through London, plus having to stay over somewhere because fuck trying to do the return trip the same night), it's not worth it. Especially when you consider Ame has a ball each year (Aya is an unknown quanitity of course, but it sounds like they'll try and arrange something similar), Expo had a ball, and all the other cons seem to be trying to up their game too... I'd care more about getting to this if either it was a bigger event or there simply weren't any other times you could do this sort of thing. As it is, we're now looking at 3-4 balls per year, which has taken the special shine away from them. So spending so much money on something which I can already get elsewhere several times which also come with the benefits of being fitted into a whole weekend event... yeah, sod this ball.
tl;dr: nice idea initially, needs to be more central because fuck London, bit of a jip unless you've got lots of excess money to burn and you know you won't get to any of the big conventions for the other balls. I wish them all the best and success but I'll live without.
