How do I get started on making the school uniform?
Where can I find socks that will stay up forever? I've bought thigh high socks before and even the tightest ones come rolling down after a short while.

Find overknee socks that are labeled as "stay ups"? Those typically have a layer of latex or some other kind of grippy tape built right into the hems.

Oh God no! You need to make two uniforms, basically.make one out of cheap muslin and don't worry about details. Try it on, see where you can pull in the seams a bit and pin it. Resew and try it on again. Keep doing this until you have a uniform that's tailored tightly to your body.

To be honest, though, just make sure your seams are clean and your garmment is even and you'll look fine.

How would it even fit over the shoulders if it's form-fitting? I'm pretty sure the waist is a lot smaller than the shoulders. It'd be impossible to even put the costume on.

one trick i've found to be useful if you need them to stay up without resorting to garterbelts/socksglue/tape is putting two socks on your legs over eachother, it probably won't help as much as using the aforementioned items but it'll help somewhat, in my experience
