I have pretty sensitive skin so most face washes make me flare up. Luckily I don't get many pimples so I don't need it.
The only face wash type thing I do use is Garnier makeup remover for senstive skin. The only time I wear concealer is at cons and I used to get really bad acne from it. But I now use those when I get back to the motel and all is well. (I did wash my face with water before but it didn't get all the makeup off. Those facewipes remove anything! Even permanant marker!)

Oops.Garneir makeup removing WIPES. I really can't recomend them enough! They are quite expensive but totally worth it. Plus, if you're like me and only wear heavy makeup at cons they last a long time.

I use an apricot facial scrub that's like $2-3 at Walgreens and it does wonders to both my face and back (it breaks out badly when I use regular soap).
Generally I use warm water first to get my pores open and then when I am finished I get a cold cloth and put it over my face so that the pores close up again.

Seems to work really well.

My skin in general is kind of dry without being too dry, although it can get really oily for a short period of time if I use soap on my face. At some point I just figured I'd avoid the overcompensation and just use water.

When I'm not lazy: I was with facial cleanser. Currently I use Clinique's acne solution wash/toner/lotion. It's kinda...meh though. If you're looking for real acne killer, I suggest Acne Free's facial care combo, or some other brand because I think Clinique just does a good job at keeping your skin clean and supple, but doesn't help acne a damn.
