Hi, femanon here, I'm planning to cosplay Mami from Madoka later this year, and I wonder.. would this wig be long enough to make her drill pigtails?

Depends on how you're doing them but I'd say not. For my Mami wig I bought two Le Tigres from Arda and took the wefts out of one. Le Tigre is pretty long, but I still had to layer hair to cover the entirety of the drills and still not doooone.

Nope, not nearly long enough. Think circle, pi * diameter of each drill loop of her hair and add them together. I can guarantee you it will take at least 40 inches of hair to make good-looking drill hair at the right volume and diameter.

seconding a general wig help thread.....

i'm in need of a PURE white wig (not the silver white ones everyone has) that is longer than shoulder length and decently thick. also NO bangs. i'm searching ebay like crazy but all the 'white' wigs are fucking silver.

i'm really not picky about what style it is to start off.....it's getting modded into a 18c powdered wig similar to the style in this image (hence why i want to avoid the silvery white color). i'm only adament about it not having bangs and being long enough. i'm willing to buy 2 wigs and harvest 1 for wefts, my problem is just finding wigs that aren't that damn silver-white.

so far as i can tell, arda's 'white' is the #60 silver white...and while epiccosplay *appears* to have a pure white, the only styles it's offered in either have bangs, are too short, or are just ridiculously overpriced. also, i refuse to deal with cosworx after having had some horrendous customer service in the last few years.

Please don't do that "femanon here" bullshit. One, it's annoying and unnecessary for, really, any board, and most people do it to instigate. Two, you are on /cgl/. We're mainly women. I don't know why you felt the need to point out your vagina in the first place.

I found a tutorial for drill hair online that I'm using for the same costume, basically you get a shortish blond wig and some hair extensions of the same colour. Then you sandwich two extensions together with double-sided sticky tape and florist wire in the middle. You can bend it to whatever shape you want, and for drill hair you use a large spray can.
