I do both subdued and OTT sweet as well as goth and classic. I never seem to have the right blouse, or the right shoes, or the right accessories, despite having 3 white +2 off white blouses, 2 white pairs of white shoes (I have half a dozen lolita shoes in different colours) and half my accessories in pink (I tried to make everything pink so that they match. Except the goth stuff). I have just discovered I need a different black blouse than the one I've been using because the frills don't sit nicely under my latest jsk. And blue shoes; I don't know how, but I suddenly have two blue jsks and two blue skirts. I'd been planning to wear them with one of my white shoes, but maybe it's time to get blue shoes.
Also, I started out with what I'd call old school sweet (white lace everywhere on pink; it's a btssb dress). I've since discovered I dislike old school, or at least, the style that was white lace on everything, but like
>>4413925I don't really want to sell it yet. The sales value of what I have has probably fallen to near zero, which hasn't helped to motivate me.
And. I have this tendency to impulse buy jewellery because "it's pretty". So I have chunky watch pendants and this big giant crown that doesn't go with anything. Goshdarnit. The pendant watch's battery has died, even. Should I replace it before it starts leaking? I'm thinking of just removing the battery altogether.
The upside is, if I'm still thinking like this (about the things I still need to get/dispose of) about my lolita wardrobe I'm probably still interested in the fashion. I haven't had a day where I've woken up and decided I hate ALL of my wardrobe, although there are days when I wished I had the same passion for mainstream clothing instead (mainstream would be more accessible and less troublesome to wear, but somehow only lolita gets me off the butt and into learning about body shape, makeup and colour coordination)
