These pictures are cute as fuck, but I can't imagine how much free time the people who prepare these bentos have. Okay, for rice there are rice cookers. You can chop up the vegetables quickly. But then there is various fried shit, like chicken, potatoes or shrimp, things that you need to boil, like macaroni or eggs or sausages.. Then you have to cut the stuff in cute shapes, add food coloring to the rice, etc. and arrange all that. And besides the time that all of this might take, imagine how much cookware you would need to wash afterwards. I'm trying to imagine myself doing that and I'm getting annoyed just thinking of it.

Usually the more complex ones you see on here are for competitions and such, simpler ones are mostly done for kids by their mothers:
If you're doing it for yourself, unless you're the type of person who can get things done quickly and efficiently its likely not the hobby for you.

You're welcome! I still had a little bit more to post, but they're not as nice looking as these ones.
It's kinda hard to find really good photos, if i do find any before this thread 404s then I'll post them too.
I also had a really nice site (If you don't mind having to navigate a little strangely, the sites originally in japanese) with simple tutorials and such, but I wasn't sure if it counted as advertising, but here I go anyway.
