Question about steamed vegetables

Hello all,

I have recently started steaming a lot of vegetables since I bought a rice cooker w/ steam tray. My questions is how long is too long to cook the vegetables? I personally like when the vegetables are much softer than normal however I have read that if you let them steam too long it will zap all the nutrients out of them. Anyone know how long I can let them cook before it starts to degrade the nutrients?
