Home from school with a cold, so Im making oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies (saw them here on /ck/)

Anyone made these before?
I will post pics as I go along

DISASTER!

the pan warped in the oven. It appears one of the cookies panicked and attempted to escape, only to be apprehended by two others, which all sort of melted together into one giant cookie.

I made these ones too big

sometimes I will cook stuff on the same temp and one time it will be too cool, the other time it'll be like a concentration camp... these cookies also look a little darker 'cuz theres some molasses in them (they're soft and chewy, and slightly undercooked in the middle)

I asked my brother (who is a pastry chef). He says the dough probably needs more flour and to try chilling it for an hour first (it might help the cookie from spreading too much). He also agreed and said a different CC Cookie recipe would be in order.

I guess it's not being an asshole, but I just didn't want OP to think they don't know how to bake. Usually a bad recipe can make even the best baker look lousy.

I only used the nestle recipe because my ex boyfriend made me some amazing choc chip cookies and said he only used the nestle tollhouse recipe... I was convinced he was trolling but he insisted

From my own experience, more flour stops spreading as does chilling the dough a little first. Sometimes a recipe with a lot of butter can cause the cookies to spread too much.

okay, so next time I will try a different choc chip cookie recipe, use less dough, and I will use shortening instead of butter

heres one of the second batch... my camera only takes blurry pics close up, srry
the cookies were white and black, so you cant really tell its an oreo

next time I'll cook them on 300 or 275 (er, that's what my gas oven calls it) (wish I had $ for an oven thermometer right now)

I chilled the dough for 2 hours before I used it, I will also add more flour next time

Made these cookies a few weeks ago. My husband devoured the shit out of these but they are too sweet for me now... They're OK, but too much.

They look better than they taste, IMHO. Not saying it's a bad cookie, just personal preference.
