There are a lot of rolls out there these days. Places are coming up with hundreds of different combinations. You should just see what your local sushi place has that sounds good to you.
You can also try some of the simpler fish - salmon is obviously really good and usually very mild. Tuna is the same way. Super white tuna or escolar is good in small doses (eating a LOT will make you sick, but the sushi-sized serving will not) and is my favorite as far as straight fish goes. They call it "butterfish" for a reason - it's delicious!
What I would not recommend since your new, and I don't know what your local sources are like -- uni. Uni is sea urchin gonads and is down right disgusting if it's not very, very fresh.
