Thinking about trying to get a job at chipotle over the summer.
My favorite fast food restaurant.

What does /ck/ think about chipotle and/or working in a place like chipotle?
I've worked as a cashier before but never in food. I'm 21 btw. Collegefag.

The Mexicans will steal from your register and you'll get fired for theft.

All I wanted to do was make food at Chipotle but the owner was white and thought I would be great at register. I hate working the register, it wasn't what I wanted to do. I'd like the nice foodline Mexican single mother watch my register for me while I cleaned tables in the lobby. Every day I did this the register was short.

Don't ever get a job at a restaurant you like, simple as that. (even if fast food) Mainly because it will ruin your idea of how food is prepared. I'm not saying people shit and pee in your food or something but stuff happens occasionally and if you like eating there it will get to you over time. You'll end up hating it, especially fast food becuase of the god awful things people order. (I've worked at 4 different resaurants, and it made me hate them all.)

i live in a college town and 5 of my friends work at the chipotle here, so of course i get to hear all about it when I am hanging with any of them. They all pretty much enjoy the job, they have oen cool manager who lets them smoke bud at work (they take turns going outside with a one hitter).

im pretty sure the basic jobsd are on the line and prep. on the line is basically assembling the burritos and prep is in the back cooking the rice, chips, meat and all that. peopel who aren't good with customers usually ge tput on prep, but they're starting pay is more

this is what im scared of, but the college meal plan for the summer is way over priced and I don't have a fridge. I figure having a job somewhere I like will get me decent food at least once a day at a discount. Plus money.

I've had a female delivery driver once. I was going to put 0.69 for a tip on the credit card slip but once I saw it was a girl I gave her two dollars in cash.

As for food discounts, I work as a pizza guy and I get to take home whatever I want for free. I end up taking home a medium pizza and a dozen wings each time. It probably depends on your manager if you can get free food though.

Agreed. Used to love Arby's. Worked there. Still go occasionally, but not as big a fan as I used to be

I'm not trying to dissuade for the most part of working in a restaurant, partially discounted food and it's usually a fun work environment, just don't do it at a place you like to eat a lot.

Also if you're a femanon I wouldn't do food work, as in cook, register is fine, unless(don't take this the wrong way) an ugly/fat chick. If you are even normally attractive you will get a lot of shit in the kitchen unless you have really tough skin.

My final say of advice is look for a home kitchen/cafe type restaurant and get a serving or cashier job there. You'll get way more tips, won't have to deal with a bunch of annoying guys, and it will be usually entertaining to see what the "guests" do.
