But, nothing replaces a microwave. If you get serious into cooking, and plan leftover portions for the freezer, nothing beats a 30% power thaw for a block of frozen meat or a 50% thaw on some lasagna, rice dishes, and other prepared foods. A microwave replaces several appliances on the countertops, does the same things and saves time. Heating a mug of water for some hot cocoa, tea, or instant coffee. Steaming vegetables, especially frozen, right in the serving bowl saves an extra pot to wash.
Other than standing next to it while running, there's nothing wrong with it healthwise.
