What's the best brand of decaff coffee, /ck/? I'm a heavy coffee drinker who needs to cut back on caffeine, but I'm not quite willing to quit drinking coffee all together.

Ordinarily, I'd just go out and select a few brands to experiment with, but coffee's pretty damn expensive where I live, so that's not going to happen...

Well, the problem is this... I've been drinking regular coffee for so long that I can definitely taste the difference between decaff and regular - the former has an empty taste, just not as robust or powerful as regular coffee. So, when I bought my favorite brand of coffee, only decaffeinated, I was supremely disappointed.

Also, tea has quite a large amount of caffeine per serving.

I've had to dial back my caffeine intake quite a few times, in order to reduce my tolerance, and I learned very quickly that decaf just wasn't worth it. You're not getting the coffee experience, so it's just disappointing.
If you don't have to quit caffeine completely, I suggest trying some tea. The usual black stuff is pretty strong, so avoid it. Green tea is a bit weaker, and there are some interesting varieties that are even more so, like pu-er and smoked/roasted teas.
If you do have to quit caffeine completely, you're going to have to switch to tisanes of some kind. There are many kinds of fruity and spicy herbal infusions, which have very little in common with coffee but may appeal to you. Also, there's an entire category of tisanes made from roasted seeds or roots. They're often marketed as coffee substitutes, but they're good enough to deserve to be appreciated on their own merits and not on their similarity to coffee.
