NEW YORK (CBS 2) — A shocking, ambush-style attack on a food deliveryman was caught on tape in Morningside Heights. Police are hunting for the teen suspects, Jay Dow reports.
Police released video of the encounter.
The set-up was simple: police say three teenage boys phoned in a Chinese food order Friday afternoon.
They went up to the sixth floor of the building at 40 Morningside Avenue, hid in a stairwell next to the elevator, and waited for the deliveryman.
As soon as the deliveryman came out of the elevator, the lurking teens attacked. The deliveryman was knocked to the ground as the kids punched and kicked him repeatedly.
The boys tried, but failed, to steal cash from his pocket.
As the teens fled, one picked up the food and threw it at the victim
