and beans i rehydrated my pinto and black beans in a crockpot with half an onion, garlic cumin, cayenne pepper and a can of diced tomatoes ( which was too much i should have used half the can) and a bit of water and olive oil...that was in the crockpot for at least 12 hours...when they were done, i put some olive oil in a pan put the beans minus the cooking liquid and mashed them while they fried. i threw in a bit of the shredded cheese and a dash of milk and that was dinner
