South Beach, a high protein carb-counting diet isn't too bad for people who have to eat convenience foods, eat out predominantly, travel on the road often, or have issues with shopping at normal groceries.
Some choices for you in the above diet would be:
low fat beef jerky
pork rinds
whole apples or bananas
peanuts/pistachios/cashew tubes
pickled eggs, pickled sausages
V8
lowfat milk
diet sodas or flavored waters, unsweetened tea
A lot of the above are better choices for most people. Avoid chocolate. Pretzels and licorice/gummis are more filling for the salt or gnoshing bang, if that's your craving, and lack of fat. Nuts have the fat, but satisfying and nutritious. Unshelled nuts take longer to eat, and you'll probably be sick of the salt before you finish them. Some crackers like wheat thins or triscuit also will come out better than chips.
