>>3270150It's cheap because of the sorts of foods we eat. I grew up in a multicultural background and eat the foods from those cultures. Most of them are stews and stir-fries and are generally fairly cheap to make. If I cook a stew for dinner, we always have at least another four servings left afterwards and it costs about $2-4USD for the pot. Our stews are based on beans, legumes and pulses, mostly, or potatoes, all of which are cheap, filling and delicious. One of my favourites is butter lentil chicken stew which I posted on another board recently. I'd be happy to post the guidelines (no recipe, sadly, since I don't really measure anything) if you'd like.
