Black and strong, if its fresh ground and somewhat freshly brewed. I find the coffee I make at home can be on the burner for hours and still taste fine. I grind my own beans, and always buy oily dark roast, occasionaly medium, but that makes for a different taste.
If its restaurant/coffee shop swill, I need cream/sugar to sheild my tastebuds from the assult of shit. Srsly, how is it they can charge 5$ for a cup of coffee made out of dry beans, that ends up tasting like dirty water?
