Lets talk about liquor.
I'm looking to buy gin, bourbon and vodka.
What do you recommend?

Gin
I just finished a bottle of flieschmanns gin that was probably 10 years old an am looking to buy something a little fresher or a little nicer. I'm thinking about getting some tanqueray london dry but want to know if beefeater, gordons, or seagrams would be good. I typically use gin for gin and tonics.

Vodka
I have half a bottle of Taaka (~5 years old) shit tastes and smells like rubbing alcohol. Mix it with something, it tastes like mouthwash. Had some Seagrams vodka (Extra Smooth) a few weeks ago, odorless, tasteless, mixed well with fruit juice.

Bourbon
I'm leaning towards wild turkey 80. I usually use it for boubon balls, shots or drinking neat.

I enjoy Gordon's gin, and Beefeater. Seagram's isn't bad. But for gin and tonics I would definitely use something more along the lines of Gordon's rather than Beefeater or Bombay Sapphire or Tanqueray.

JB Black label is overpriced. You can get W.L. Weller for the same price and it's much, much better. Other than that for bourbon, look for Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace if you can find them, those are both at a good price point while being very nice bourbons.

Taaka is some of the cheapest shit you can get. Step it up to at least a Smirnoff level, but I prefer Stoli. Make sure you leave it in the freezer, goes down much easier.

For g&t I like Bluecoat. It has a less assertive juniper but very nice flavors and has a good 47% alc. You also can't go wrong with Tanqueray 10 which makes an even better martini as well.

Bourbon : Makers Mark for general useage, for special any of the Beam small batch collection (Knob Creek, Bakers, etc....)

The ONLY gin worth drinking is Hendricks, its expensive but so much better than the rest. Bourbon, get Woodford Reserve, Vodka...Don't get any its all potato water its a peasant drink.

In regards to Vodka....it's not all Potato water some of the better ones are distilled from grain.

Gin: Gordon's mixes well and is very nice neat if thats your thing.

Vodka: Cirac, french & distilled from grapes (has a nice light fruity taste with no after taste). Or if you like grain Stolichnaya is very good and mixes well. I prefer Cirac or Grey Goose if your taking it neat though.

Bourbon: Makers Mark, nice sipper for a cold night.

Best bottom shelf bourbon out there. Heck, best whiskey for under 13 dollars if you live in a place you don't have a good selection of Rye.

If we're asking what the best bottle of each is for the cheapest possible, it's easy.

Gin: Plymouth Plymouth Plymouth. If you NEED london dry, Tanqueray. If you can get Seagram's distillers reserve, go for this, otherwise don't go cheaper unless you're a huge fan of well gin tonics.
Vodka: don't spend over 15 dollars for something made from grain. Olifant is great for 10 bucks.
Bourbon: the aforementioned W.L. Weller 7 year is about 14-15 bucks and easily just as good as Makers. Beam Black is good but way overpriced. If you're willing to spend the extra, grab Elmer Lee Single Barrel, but the type of drinking you do makes me think Turkey 101 would be fine. If you just wanna mix it with soda or shoot it, you cannot beat Evan Williams all day for value for money.
