The show premieres tomorrow in the UK. It has a sneak peek in the US on Tuesday, after The Looney Tunes Show. It then takes Johnny Test's 7:30 PM slot away from it on the following Monday and starts having weekly premieres.

I am hoping that it will be a fun show. I haven't liked all of the clips so far, but it has to be the cutest thing that I've ever seen.

Why would they put this at 7:30? Wouldn't it make more sense to give it AT's timeslot since AT will be offseason?

CN's scheduling is retarded sometimes. Yes, AT is a popular show, but personally I would want to give my new show better billing than a show in repeats.

They intend to air Gumball in half-hour blocks, so we get two "new" episodes per week. They haven't done that since the earlier seasons of Chowder and Flapjack. Because of that, it couldn't take the 8:00 PM slot.

I think they would be better off moving Mystery Incorporated to 8:30 PM on Tuesday and having Gumball take the 7:30 PM slot. Then they would have solid blocks on both Monday and Tuesday.

Ok, that makes sense. Is airing episodes like that more common in Britain? I don't remember CN ever doing that with a series for longer than a few episodes before, although my memory is really fuzzy and easily wrong.

Wonder what your face will be like when Johnny Test takes a primetime Monday slot when the new season starts. Long story short, they're going to stick it as close to AT as possible by putting Test in place of whatever series is in repeats at the time. My bet is it takes the 8:15 slot with AT as a lead-in and RS as a lead-out.

Anyways, I think the show will do fine. Cartoon Network has been promoting it like crazy, plus it has a small following online who is ready to watch it. Hopefully Johnny Test will be able to air new episodes on Tuesdays with The Looney Tunes Show. The most popular show on the network paired up with some of the most popular characters in history is a guaranteed ratings boast.

I guess if I had any problems with the show right now is the clip were they're treating the only female character in that episode as an animal, dragging her around with a leesh. Why couldn't it be Darwin doing that? He is the family pet anyway, while Analis is Gumball's sister.

Possibly. I've never seen a Gumball thread last longer than three days, but if it stays alive that long, it will be up for both the UK premiere and the US sneak peek. If somebody uploads the UK premiere, this thread should get a lot more traffic.

I am actually looking forward to this show. The previews looked funny and adorable. That alone is enough to catch my intrest, and I love it when the have voices that sound like real kids, that was one of the things I liked about Chowder as well. But I reserve final judgement until I actually watch an episode

They did hire some very young kids. Kwesi Boakye is probably the most well-known; he voices Darwin. However, I doubt very many people, at all, have heard of Logan Grove or Kyla Rae Kowalweski.

Logan Grove is voicing Beast Boy in Young Justice; that will definitely increase his exposure, but I really like his voice for Gumball.

Quick note: The default aspect ratio for this is 4:3 (the same as my recording), but in my opinion it looks better if you switch it to 16:9 in your media players.

Yeah. I'm not sure what I expected, but it feels like it's lacking something. Doesn't quite feel like any of Cartoon Network's other shows. I'd say it has more in common with the Looney Tunes Show than anything.

One reason might be that most of the good scenes were already in the trailers, and the rest wasn't anything out of the ordinary. I hope they get a bit more original with the episode plots as well.

Character descriptions seemed to indicate Gumball and Penny couldn't express their feelings for one another. Yet Gumball didn't have any problem saying everything he did in "The Mystery". I think that's actually better than the usual cliche. Nice to see them openly confess their love for one another, even if it was one-sided in this episode.

Sucks that neither Carrie and Teri wasn't in this episode very much, but it showed that Teri is a cheerleader. I guess she IS flexible.

First ep was bland. Typical cartoon family stereotypes played to the max. The only redeeming factor was that they all equally are involved in the slapstick.
Second ep was much better IMO. Normally I'd say that focusing on the school would be boring, but anything is better than the stereotypical family roles.

Bland… I’ve seen that word tossed around several times to describe the series. Perhaps it is. I think the biggest disappointment is that, when you look at the visuals, it leads you to believe that it will be anything but bland. I can excuse the characters’ unoriginality as long as they are entertaining, but it’s the mediocre plots that bother me. They lack the creative flair of the visual style. There are some good jokes here and there, but the series is not yet living up to my expectations. Granted, I had higher expectations than most.

“The DVD” isn’t much different than these two. It’s another family episode, although Gumball, Darwin and Nicole are the only ones who appear. Nicole gets some more angry time, which is always a plus, but I can’t say I enjoyed the episode as much as I hoped.

I think I said this on toonzone, too, but even if it is bland from a narrative point, I'll tune in to watch the awesome animation. The weird upsidedown-live-action-half-person face came out of left-field, and watching a full show is visually pleasing.

But right now it feels like a "Replacements" knock off.

I don’t intend to stop watching the series either. I’m easily entertained; the only shows I’ve given up on in recent years are “Fish Hooks” and “Planet Sheen”. I still occasionally watch the former, but the voice acting will forever prevent me from caring much about it. At least Gumball doesn’t have that problem. I have enjoyed the series so far, but I really hope that they try to make things more interesting in the future. That’s why I’m looking forward to some of the crazier sounding episodes, like the one in which they believe the world is coming to an end or the one in which they get caught up in a robbery. Those sound a lot more interesting than any of the current episodes. Hell, the episode where Gumball wears a dress to school sounds a lot more interesting.

I’m not sure if I get your comparison to “The Replacements”, however.

I love this series so far, I'm glad Cartoon Network picked this up, while the writing can use a little work. Everything else is pretty damn amazing, of course the animation needs no mention. Overall, this show is really fun to watch and I'll be looking forward to tomorrow's DVD episode.
