really we can sit and name call all day, but the truth is people don't buy comic books for any number of reasons, diminished points of sale, discomfort in using the existing points of sale, rising cover prices coupled with... polarising art and writing choices, whatever
but being a big fish in a small pond is easy
personally I think a large part of the overall fall in sales is due to the willingness of the big companies to pander to the fappers, the status quo lovers and, unfortunately, to the big-name comic book writers who are telling them this is the next big thing, the exciting development that will push up sales - so we get these constant events and banner titles and families and tie ins and all most people want, when they buy a disposable magazine, is some light entertainment, not a treatise on the state of America or a double page spread of a man being torn apart. Sure, some people want that - but it doesn't provide the light diversion most people want.
>>25553010they just go by Diamond sales - so if you're outside the US (and Canada, possibly), your copies don't count toward the sales figures. And Diamond doesn't distribute to small, non-specialist vendors, so you won't see a resurgence of drugstore comic racks any time soon.
