God damn, this is one of the worst line-up's I've ever seen.
I'm not hating on all of them, but ELEKTRA, SPIDERMAN 3 AND GHOST RIDER ALL IN ONE DAY?!

When I heard about who was cast as venom I raged so fucking hard.
I'm not a big Marvel fan but holy shit, even I knew Eddy Brock was a big dude.
And I can't take Topher Grace seriously in a fucking thing.
I'm sure he can act and all but I can't take him seriously.

You people complaining about Venom only have yourselves to blame. Raimi didn't want to put Venom in the movie at all. He wanted classic Spidey animal themed villains like The Vulture.

But the suits kept going "NO FANS WANT HIM PUT HIM IN DO IT NOW". So he decided to phone it in and that's what you got as a result.

What pisses me off most is.....HE SHOULD'VE BEEN THE ORIGINAL PARKER!
He had the Spidey Snark, he looked like a nerdy little punk, but could play a dogged nice guy.
What pisses me off about him as Venom isn't so much he's an awful Venom as it reminds me he was the perfect Parker.

No offense, but I never really liked Venom all that much. The way I view him, he's been treated more of a recurring arch-enemy/rival type of character, when really it's the symbiote that should be treated as an antagonistic force. My personal belief is that it works better either as a one-time thing or as a legacy character.

As for Topher Grace, remember that Ultimate Eddie is skinny. Plus, it gives an interesting parallel to Pete as well, because by making both Pete and Eddie relatively similar, it makes it more interesting to see Eddie become Venom because that is what would've happened to Pete had he kept the black suit.

Plus, I always found the idea of Eddie being a big guy AND a photographer to be kinda silly. Venom can be big, sure. Eddie can be big if he has some other profession like in SSM, okay. But yet everyone wants Eddie to resemble John Cena holding that little camera for some reason.

I'm talking about Venom. Not Eddie Brock. Yes, Eddie and Pete were rivals, and in the movie it was captured pretty well. But Venom as Spider-Man's rival? No thanks. I liked the idea of them having to work together in the PS1 game was pretty cool, but the whole "My symbiote gives me super snark!" thing with Venom was just annoying to me, even then.

The main comics version was journalist whose big scoop was someone confessing to a series of murders... then spidey caught the REAL killer and Brock was shamed, fired and found it hard to get a new job. Originally (i think) they had him falsifying the story but that was retconned so that he was more innocent and there was a genuine person pretending to be the murderer to him... His only failing then being that he didn't dig deep enough to find out the truth.

Anyway. During all this weight-training, body-building and other gym stuff was pretty much how he blew off steam, hence the physique.
