>>25575054Also there were three pertinent annuals for JLI (one as JL and the other two as JLI), the first two annuals for JLE, and a Justice League International Special one-shot.
Ok, so JLI will be getting a new series at some point later this year, spinning out of the just finished maxi-series called Justice League: Generation Lost. GL was a pretty good book, not great but not absolutely horrible. However, to understand it you need a fair bit of backstory, which I'll help you out with.
Keep in mind that you don't need to read these to enjoy GL, but it will give context and help understand some stuff.
Countdown to Infinite Crisis. This is necessary for future reference, but honestly it's not good and you might as well just wiki it to find out what you need to know (or more specifically, wiki Maxwell Lord to find out some of the aftermath from this issue that's also important but was in some random Wonder Woman comic). This is a direct lead-in to Infinite Crisis, a massive event title that is the benchmark for godawful event books; all you need to know about Infinite Crisis itself is that the universe was almost destroyed but it was saved and all the DC titles jumped ahead one year in their internal timeline. If you want to wiki it to find out more, be my guest, but honestly it's so bad I wouldn't even recommend that.
Next you have 52, which is about the "missing year" in the DC universe, and redefines Booster Gold's character to his current portrayal. While 52 spins out of Infinite Crisis, you don't really need to have read IC to understand 52, and 52 is just an amazing book on its own.
