I was just wondering if theres a /co/ essentials list for comics? Or at least some kind of beginners list?

And i'm very much entry-level, so covering basics would be good i guess? And so far i've tended to prefer shorter trades as opposed to long series (though i'm really enjoying walking dead)

There are so many different types of comics out there, that something like that isn't important. Just find a couple characters or authors you like, and go from there.

You'll quickly pick up ideas of who you like, and what you're not interested in.

Like, what about Walking Dead did you like?
The character-based drama? Try Vertigo comics.
The Gore? Try Image comics.
The author's voice? Invincible.

I've only read watchmen on that list (which i probably didn't really get the first time, but it still gets better every time i read it)

So far i've read:
Watchmen
V For Vendetta
Scott Pilgrim Series
1st trade of Sandman
first 4 trades of invincible and Walking Dead
first two trades of Y the last man

as the guy who suggested most of the 2000ad stuff back when this list was compiled, I still wonder why I listed down every single artist for the Judge Dredd stuff, it looks silly
