Hellboy is my favorite comic series ever. I love everything about it. I love the art, the story, the themes, the eerie Lovecraftian vibe. But after Hellboy left the B.P.R.D. I stopped reading. I couldn't bring myself to read the B.PR.D. series without Hellboy there. I really like Mignola's work, so are the B.P.R.D. comics worth reading for a fan?

Why not just man up and read all of it? Hell, add up EVERYTHING Hellboy-related and you could still probably get that shit done in a week.

It's all pretty good. Also:

Hellboy might be back in the BPRD soon. Or even now? I think he was talking about going back to them in the last one I read.

You don't get to read the vast majority of his newer stuff then. Your loss. Davis, Corben and Fegredo all bring things to the books that Mignola, good as he is, can't do. You should probably know that Mignola is going to go back to drawing Hellboy soon-ish. Either for or after The Fury.

I think Fegredo is amazing, but he's no Mignola, man.

But it doesn't matter, the Fegredo-drawn books are AWESOME.

As for BPRD, it is also really good, but not as good as Hellboy IMO. Hellboy is an outstanding comic.
