They spent too much of the movie as frogs... I know I'm being derpy since that was the whole point of the movie, but couldn't they have made a movie with more jazz age New Orleans? Tiana and Naveen having adventures in 1920s New Orleans trying to stop Facillier(or however you spell the vaillain's name) would have kicked ass.
Also why the fuck did none of the characters dress as flappers? Wasted. Fucking. Opportunity.
Needed more Charlotte. It would have gotten old reeeeally quick if she was the main character, but she needed more screen time. Bitch was funny. The whole pedo thing at the end was gross, though. Ick.
Kind of wish they showed the voodoo elements a bit more. Not too much, but the dark things Facillier was messing with seemed very interesting.
I kinda wished they made the butler a little younger and not married, and had him and Charlotte actually fall in love. Just as a sort of small aesop that looks don't matter as much as the inside. Wait, that's kind of lame... Forget I said that.
I liked Naveen and Tiana's interactions, they make a cute couple. I like how Tiana actually WORKED for what she wanted instead of waiting for it to happen. Charlotte was spoiled and oblivious, but a likable character and good friend. Facillier was awesome, kinda wish he had another song. I like how they actually did research about what the tarot cards mean. Thought the lightning bug would make me want to punch someone, but he wasn't as annoying as I anticipated and the whole star thing endeared him to me. That song where Tiana sings about her dream restaurant had awesome animation.
I didn't dislike it intensely... I just felt it was too restrained. I know Disney tried to tiptoe around to avoid getting people pissy, and it shows. I honestly don't think I'll ever go out of my way at all to see it again.
Also, it made me want shrimp gumbo... But no restaurants around here serve it and my aunt only makes it for Christmas Eve. Goddammit.
