>All pitches are presented as 1/6th-page advertisements that offer new ideas for animated shows that just may get picked up for development. >The Pitch Party offers independent artists an opportunity to advertise their animated properties for a greatly reduced rate in the pages of Animation Magazine, which is read all over the world. Each of our esteemed judges then review all entries and collectively select one winner for the opportunity to pitch their idea to the participating execs of their choice. The thing that baffles me is that these people don't even try. I mean, look at this shit.

An ambassador of goodwill and laughter that reveals & interprets the Language of Music and adds a little magic to every scene he’s in, the idea for creating him came to me while exploring Sedona’s petroglyph-covered caves—He embodies my spiritual quest & my love for the flute. >>26570281 >“Orpheous,” the show’s director & R.D.’s head staff writer (not to mention his comic“foil”), is the prankster of the group whose mischievous look & self-important stride make him the center of attraction. Orpheous is my mouth piece—As one of L.A. legit theatre’s first woman writer/producer/directors, this little Min Pin is a reflection of the “control freak” in me. He’s named for, as well as based upon, my own dog: bossy, take over & comical, and he allows me to reveal my love for animals. >“Lucy,” the tweenaged trendsetter & R.D.’s fashion-forward student intern, mirrors my own teens as an intern at Macy’s in San Francisco. Sporting a flashy red mane & haughty attitude, she assists in the daily errands around the studio and is R.D.’s liaison to the kids in the audience, all of which works on a subliminal level within the storyline—Audiences will identify with her character as she trades quips with & bears the brunt of many of Orpheous’ jokes & pranks. >>26570303 >“Love the Bookworm” is a bookworm unlike any other. I created him nearly ten years ago when I started writing a series of children’s books and was invited to become an “author-in-residence” in several Southland school districts. I’ve never seen a bookworm like him and—as a driven, career-oriented go-getter—he seemed a natural to join the cast of a variety/talk show for kids. Despite his over-achiever persona, however, he does have a sincere love of Literature & Poetry, which he shares with his viewers. >“Samoli” is a more sophisticated spin on the stereotypical, loveable hillbilly and R.D.’s accident-prone prop master & cameraman. A yellow Abyssinian cat & wanna-be stand-up comic, Samoli doubles as R.D.’s warm-up act, bringing yet another element of physical comedy to “KATAKA’S WORLD.” Anonymous

My musicals have always been well received by audiences of all ages—and with two new original, radio-ready songs incorporated into each episode that span the musical genres of Pop, Rock, World Beat, Hip-Hop, R&B and Alt-Country, “KATAKA’S WORLD” soundtracks will be a highly marketable portion of the licensing opportunities embedded within this incredible cartoon series. I had a serious fear that a majority of cartoon pitches were actually masterpieces and were only rejected because there were too many. This thread has both opened my eyes and given me hope that I could actually get one of my ideas turned into a cartoon. No joke, I could literally crap out better concepts than these.
