>>27137988>Obi Wan specifically avoids fights throughout the movie up to his confrontation with Darth Vader. True, but when one couldn't be avoided, he cut a guy's arm off. It's actually toned down from the original script- he cuts one guy's arm off, cuts another guy in half, and decapitates a third thug (who doesn't actually participate at all in the finished film).
>Obi Wan basically called them relics that he wore as a sort of reminder. It was as if he were suggesting that a modern Jedi would be packing a rifle with the light saber there as just a last resort. What? He never said that. If anything, he derided blasters. He specifically calls them clumsy and random, and implies that he considers them uncivilized (they had him outright state it in Episode 3).
>Aside from that training scene, did Luke or Obi Wan ever actually deflect lasers, or even use light sabers against anyone that wasn't a sith or that guy in Mos Eisley? Actually, yeah. Luke deflects quite a few lasers in Return of the Jedi. He also goes around killing Jabba's guards with it. I'm surprised you forgot about this.
>And double bladed light sabers. Darth Maul used one, and it was exotic for most people. It marked him as an evil man. Now half the damn Jedi seem to use one for no damn reason. It's like people have run out of ideas and just decided the solution was to put more swords in that shit.This... well, yeah. With Maul, it was cool. When you start getting to Grievous and his whole four-armed whirligig thing, it gets ridiculous. Season 4 of Clone Wars is going to have a four armed Jedi with two double-bladed lightsabers. This is just getting stupid.
