ITT: Public domain patriotic superheroes of the 1940's.

Every single comics company in the 1940's had to have some patriotic superhero to support America's war efforts (and also probably raise sales). Eventually a lot of companies went under and these characters fell into the public domain due to disuse.

This is FLAG-MAN AND RUSTY

>>Captain (later Major) Hornet, Aide to the President, became a costumed, non-powered, killer vigilante known as Flagman. He fought the enemies who could not be dealt with by military regulations or the law. He was active both on the home-front as well as in the South Pacific against the Japanese. While he had no powers, Flagman was an agile and skilled fighter. He was assisted by his sidekick, Rusty.
