Ok, I'll go ahead and say I expect this to be a surprise hit.
Because with this wave of gritty superhero films that is so trendy right now, what happens when you do a soft gritty reboot of a franchise that was already GRIMDARK to begin with, and keep humoristic and over the top elements?
I really like the new look of the Rider, it looks like they decided to add an element of faux-realism to him, as opposed to the straight-out-of-the-comic design of the first one, which also had the disadvantage of being made entirely on CGI and not motion-captured so his movements looked clunky as hell.
This one looks like something a demonic entity would look like, and has an element of danger in his appearance, he looks caustic, corrosive, like you wouldn't want to touch him or get close to him lest you get badly burned.
Anyhoo, I hope this has a solid script and isn't generic marvel flick #17.
