Upon arriving, however, he is confronted by Death, who is being jealous towards Boodikka's presence on Earth a few days after Death dumped Hal. While this is happened, military personel arrives and captures Boodikka's body, distracting the already oblivious Hal with a HAMBOIGAH trap. As Boodikka's body is moved to a secure military outpost, many people whisper to one another about her, unaware that they're helping the virus to spread.
When Hal notices that Boodikka is gone, he sets off to find her, only to receive an incoming call from Salaak, alerting that Oa is quarantinized after it was confirmed that there's a deadly virus inside Boodikka. Many Green Lanterns have succumbed to it's effects, and Hal is ordered to keep his shield up at all times in order to block the airbone virus cells.
At Military Outpost 7734, Dr. Natalya Thessalatova, a brilliant microbiologist, studies Boodikka's body alongside CDC representant Caitlin Fairchild, who mastered in Virology after the disbandment of Gen13. Fairchild is also a lesbian in a secret relationship with lab assistant Frankie Foster, having moved out of her grandmother's house after discovering that she liked girls. Dr. Thessalatova identifies a viral agent reproducing inside Boodikka's cells, and discovers that it's airbone. She orders all blood samples taken from her to be moved back to a safe zone immediatly, but one is misplaced and ends up in the hands of the arrogant Microbiologist Dr. Donald Duck - Because seriously, this guy has had every job but this one.
