>>32405037Owl was not so much his intellectualism, but his budding intellectualism, his desire to spread his wings and experience the world beyond his own backyard. Owls are well known symbols of wisdom, and a birds wings allow them a much more sudden change of pace and scenery than earthbound creatures. More than that, Owl loved books, an age old portal into faraway lands and experiences, while staying in one place. An escape without having to go anywhere.
Kanga and Roo were his desire... a mother/son combo, inseparable. Always together. Always interacting, visibly, publicly loving each other. Not restrained by Britain's stiff upper lip culture. Not having Kanga tell Roo she was too busy to play with him, to nurture him, to love him.
Tigger, naturally, was his childlike limitless energy and active version of Pooh's non-concern for self preservation.
Piglet... well piglet was his fear and helplessness made manifest. Piglet is Piglet, Piglet is Christopher, alone and scared in a world of bigger and bolder things that could, at least in theory, utterly destroy him. Piglet is Christopher, a creature too small and weak to survive without suckling at the teat of those that are supposed to provide for him. A teat that isn't there.
