>>36009023In another interview with Empire, Leo, son of the world famous Mothra herself, had this to say on shooting his debut role, Rebirth of Mothra "Oh man, Ghidorah, that guy.... when I first told my mom I wanted to follow her footsteps, she went right over and picked up the phone, 'I know this guy,' she said, 'best actor you could ever work with.' So I meet him and... what can you say? It's like meeting Darth Vader or the Joker, and then finding out that they are the best mentor a guy could ask for. The studio wanted a new look for him, so they got these fake legs. You should have seen the look on his face, but he never said a word against it. I think I understand why now. He wanted me to get my big break, to really show what I could do.
I loved working with him so much, so much that when I got to the third movie I told the studio, 'Only one monster is big enough for the job, and if you put him in that suit again I will fly off set.' He finally got to shine, and I gave it my all for that big finish. At the end he just said, 'Good job kid, I couldn't ask for a better co-star.' He gave me a tap on the shoulder that always seemed a little weak, and then said. 'Go get 'em kid.' And I laughed and I.....
When mom told me he... I mean, I was so excited to see him when he said that he was in that movie that.... It was losing dad all over again...."
The interviewer recalled that he perked up quickly, clearing his throat and acting like nothing had happened.
"But hey, he wouldn't want me to be sad! 'Go get 'em kid, that's what he said, and that's what I'm going to do! I'll show the world, he wouldn't want it any other way."
