The only one who tried to really keep an open mind and not kneejerk into attacking Reed or giving him emotional guff is the man who has had his back since he was being bullied in school. Ben really did try to alleviate whatever was between them since he had finally sloughed off that orange hide(thus getting rid of the grief of turning his only friend into a monster). Also, Ben kinda pulled the grand dick move in taking Sue after the fact, but I don't think he'd care at this point.
I look at Reed and I see a lot has gone horribly wrong and it makes me sad to see it. His family is gone(figuratively and literally), the love of his life is dead set against him, the people who used to believe in him are against him(goodbye Ultimates, Fury, and whoever), and now he's made war on the world.
I figured that he'd at least stay an explorer, jumping to different worlds with other heroes or characters to round out a foursome and keep things going, but I don't think we'll be seeing the return of the Ultimate Mr. Fantastic we all knew. Reed's way too far gone for that now. And honestly, I really am in his corner on this one. He won't win, but here's hoping Reed ends up a more interesting lasting threat than Red Skull and Magneto were in Ultimate.
