>>46413982Zelda 1 doesn't just drop you into the woods though, it eases you into the challenge of exploring and discovering stuff on your own. People who have only played it in an emulator never seem to realize this; the game was MEANT to be played with the manual close at hand. The game doesn't expect you to be able to just pop it in the NES and start finding dungeons.
The manual has a short walkthrough for reaching the first dungeon. It has pictures of all the screens you have to go through to get there, and it just straight-up walks you there.
For the second dungeon, they give you a map showing the general direction you need to be going in, but they don't map out the entire route there, so it's only a half-walkthrough.
It's obvious the creators were sensitive of the fact that not everyone would instantly know what they're supposed to be doing.
