Smaller cons getting bigger? A good or bad thing?

Sure bigger cons get better guests, more venders, ect however they are also far too over-commercialized. With cons like Acen growing exponentially each year what does Anon think: Do bigger cons mean more opportunities for better events and guests and more publicity for anime, or do they just bring in capitalistic control and overblown commercialism?
