basically they have that written rule just so their layer said so, but as long as you don't use any official logos you are pretty much ok.

so does your "own style" mean you need to change the way the character looks, even if it's only slightly - or does that simply mean you drew it on your paper with your pencil like the OP pic and it can be in a familiar/often used pose?

I suppose it's possible to sell prints of a character that is drawn in a very similar style to the original series, but is in a different or original pose. There are many people who can do that and can sell their art that way. I don't think it counts as an infringement, but that might depend on the convention's rules. You'll want to specifically check with the con you're going to.

I'm pretty sure you can sell originals and prints of fanart at most AA's. The problem they have is with weeaboos tracing or copying shit and trying to sell it. As long as you don't copy stuff, you should be fine.
