>>710340For starters it takes like three minutes to load. That's on my 2GHz pc with a gig of ram. PS 7.0 by comparison loads up in about 30 seconds, max.
The tools and layers windows are not just floating windows within a window, they're totally separate from the image window--meaning if you maximize the image window the other windows get covered up and you have to go to the taskbar to get them back on top.
The tools ostensibly work the same way PS's do but I have never seen the GIMP paintbrush antialias the way PS's does.
The interface for loading files is horrible. It doesn't save the last folder you loaded from like PS does, it always defaults to My Documents--which is very frustrating for me because my images, especially my H stuff, is located six or seven folders deep, beneath a few folders that have thousands of images and take very long for the computer to read through them.
On top of that the tools and image windows have completely separate menu bars, leaving me scrambling when I'm looking for some options trying to figure out which window's menu they're on.
The only reason I even keep GIMP on my computer is for the purpose of deconstructing .gif animations, which PS cannot do.
