Has being more /fa/ improved your dating life? The only thing it has made me realize is that I have an overbite and what a good looking guy looks like.

I'm thinking of changing my style up a whole lot since almost anything looks good on a /fit/ body if it fits right.

The problem with /fa/ is that it can only give you an outline of what isn't acceptable.

For example, /fa/ will probably hate me if I say that I am going to make my own avatar wearing punk clothing and relying on accessories to make everything look well put together.

As for dating life, technically I could say yes because I am wearing clothes that fit well and at the same time I have lost a lot of weight, but I attribute that boost to my dating life to /fit/ and a better mindset, not necessarily my clothes.

/fa/ will help your dating life, it is a form of peacocking. Peacock properly and you will see results. /fa/ will only give you the generic default look. The rest is up to you. Think about it for a bit, then create an idea in your head of what you want to dress like.

Yes, it has improved my dating life.

I met my current gf because of it. She tells me that she was interested in me from the first day of class when we presented our autobiographies because she loved my shoes and that I obviously took care of my skin. Later we got paired in the same study group and we started talking about style (she's very smart about clothing and emphasizes the same aesthetics I do.)

We go shopping on a lot of our dates. On Saturday we went to the fashion district and had a lot of fun reviewing and talking about clothing, ultimately buying each other underwear.

It's made me loads more confident for a few good reasons. Plus, fashion's a great hobby and makes anyone a lot more interesting. Think about it: it's a marvelous ice-breaker.

Yup. I've heard that girls like either the grungy rocker shit or sophisticated charmer, which happens to work out quite well for me since I dress in a mix of greyscale classic prep and stereotypical leathers, combat boots, etc. Needless to say, in a land of american eagle, the man with a tie is king.

I saw a person at my local mall. He wore something like this gentleman(see picture), except he was taller, blonde with wavy hair, and wore thick-rimmed glasses. What kind of girls were around him? Girls dressed twee, or as this gent put it, girls who lurk this board.

Then again, I dont really go for those types of girls myself. I prefer your girl into more fun and lively things rather than a bookworm or some artsy fartsy girl.

There's a difference between being well-dressed (nice fit, matching colours, nice quality, etc) and being /fa/ (being skinny as fuck, pale, skinny jeans, wearing weird patterns like leopard print, etc).

The first thing improves your appearence and may get your more self-confident.
The second thing will make you look like you're feeling unsecure and want to hide it by dressing like models who actually look good in the weird stuff they're wearing.

I often get complimented on how I dress (guys & girls), even though I'm keeping it pretty simple. There's only one of my closest friend who's calling me gay, even though he knows that I'm straight, it's kind of an insider joke. But of course there aren't any girls coming around telling me to fuck them just because you dress well. Unfortunately... :3

yes, but its not necessarily being /fa/ what helped me.
it was meeting more people (I mean weird people) and ultimately feeling good and more comfortable in my expensive clothes and body.
Now that I think about it, I've been dressing like this for a few years but people didn't tell me I looked good until I met my first bf and I realized that someone could actually think I was pretty. he said he approached me cause I looked cute in my 510s though, so I dunno what to think

Some people who are 'well dressed' only strike me a slightly desperate. I sometimes wonder how people on this board can afford their own standards.
Niggers do the same thing. They go broke spending a couple of hundred on some rims and gold teeth to be seen as the shit to their peers. Meanwhile everyone else sees through these things. The fact someone has tried and failed to compensate for something (that may not be a problem in the first place) makes me feel awkard for them.
Some people have a natural style of dress that I find atractive but same goes for looks and general charisma. They tend to reflect and complment each other so it can be jarring when attributes clash.
The only thing you can do is be yourself only better. Like people have said wearing clothes that fit well and not being a lard arse do more for visual appeal than something a lot of people aren't botherd about. Unless you can afford to by the most /fa/ cloths and then afford a tailor for each item of clothing every season.
