I don't usually like to wear hats, but it gets really hot here during the summer, and I was wondering what I could wear to shade myself from the sun without looking completely ridiculous. Any ideas?

If it gets hot enough, stop giving a fuck. If it's hot enough to ponder fashion vs necessity, then sit in some shade to think about it.

I go without hats even in the hottest climates.
There's no need to unless you have a superwhite skin type.
If it's really hot, get something light made out of straw. No one will care anyway because they're wearing baggy white clothes since it's so hot.

I've always found that a nicely made straw hat can look pretty good. Panama style hats in particular do tend to be pretty great in the right circumstances.
