Summer wear

Today was the first hot day up here in MA and it made realize something. I don't know shit about summer fashion. None of the FA guides from /rs/ every really went over it so all my clothes are for every other season.

So, what is /fa/ for summer? I believe I have read that boat shoes with no socks works well. But what kind of shorts and shirts do I wear? I don't want to look like a fool.

It isn't as much as that much as I don't want to look like a fool.

I did some research on some sites but I don't think they are correct. Khaki shorts and boat shoes with no socks. It also said stuff about v-neck t-shirts and polo shirts, but I'm not sure if I agree with the latter.

Just try out clothes. You don't have to touch a polo shirt for the rest of your life if you don't want to. If you want to see how designers create aesthetically pleasing and interesting clothing/outfits, just look at fashion shows.

Those "wear these items of clothing during this season" articles are worthless.

Shirts*- V-Necks/ Chambray / Button- Up/ Crew Neck (two tone works well)

Shorts / Pants - Levis's 511 cutoffs (above the knee). Levis 511 chinos/skinny jeans. Unbranded raw denims. Any jeans as long as its slim fitting.

Shoes - plimsolls, chucks, boat shoes

That's all off of the top of my head.

Thanks man, I actually prefer relaxed straight jeans as opposoed to slim jens. But maybe I'll try it out for shorts. By button-ups, do you mean short sleeve ones?

For reference. Please ignore the horrible choice in socks and pants. They look nice for many occasions and are nice for going to the beach or just hanging out on a hot day. They're killer with shorts that are slightly above, below or at the knee.

just get khaki shorts, shorts of different colors and patterns are good too.
Just pay attention to fit, and make sure that your knee is visible!
Then buy anything you like. It's difficult to go wrong with shorts imho if you stick to stuff with no graphics or weird stuff.
Chinos are good too, roll them up a bit and use boat shoes with no socks.
Alternatives: plimsolls

Polos are simple. It's a damn shirt with a logo on your left tit. Get colors you like and enjoy. There are striped ones too.
Don't like?
get t-shirts you like, because /fa/ hates all graphic shirts so you're not going to find good advice on that, unless you want to wear plain t-shirts which are fine but a bit boring and plain for normal people. Just avoid the billboard look (shirt with a logo from adidas at the center or shit like that).
To avoid graphic you can explore striped patterns.

H&M has cheap, unmarked polos, and I'm pretty sure UNIQLO does, too. Both sell some really comfortable polos and they're cheap (which is great, since sweat will eventually discolor a collared shirt, no matter what color it is).
