>>3389623i agree with the "doing something different" aspect here, and i think an easy way to get round the negative connotations (manly man/child etc) is to buy a vintage or restored shirt; it still shows an affinity with a team (if that's what your're going for in the first place) and also stands out as something different. Also, a lot of modern football shirts are terrible looking with terrible materials and a lot of unneeded "flashy" decorations, whereas older 80's/70's shirts tend not to be.
