I personally can't do my own eyebrows as well as a professional can, but if it's a one-time thing, it won't cost much. Avoid going to a nail bar or somewhere equally sleazy. Try somewhere that specializes in waxing or if you don't have one nearby, try a spa. They'll use higher quality materials and you're less likely to break out afterward.
BY THE WAY, when people use eyebrow stencils and pencils, their brows are not completely shaved off. They just fill their brows into that shape after plucking them into the shape.
