Yup, we are. But then 2 of us did used to be fat and if a fatty ever calls us out on it then we'll get out our before pictures. They never respond to that. Besides both the people were doing obviously fat things and not caring for their bodies. Forgot to mention the guy on the plane was eating a big bar of chocolate.

Fun, if largely unrelated, fact: in Australia there was actually a crazy old woman, Caroline Grills, who would cook lavish food for her friends and family, but slip poison into it. She'd also occasionally make a big jar of sweets and leave it out so people would be tempted to eat it - and they would, even after they were heavily suspicious that she was poisoning half the stuff she made, because sweets of any kind were such a luxury back then that it was too tempting to resist even if you think it might make you gravely ill/kill you.

You also cannot rely on saying it was a public space, because laws vary there as well, and even though the classroom is in a public space, there's also an expectation of privacy.

However... most American universities have specific policies that allow you to record your lectures in class, in the same way that you would write down notes.

Also, talking to the department head and dean of students is not court, and so rules of evidence don't apply.

I hope you have at least one person that's on your side. Maybe you can get a friend (preferably a woman, it seems) to audit the class, so she can back you up.

One of my favourite professors was primarily a women's studies prof (I took it cross listed as philosophy because it seemed interesting (Computer Science w/ Math/Philosophy double minor before anyone gets on my case about wasting my money)) she was articulate and made me think about issues involving gender and sexuality from both sides.

I had this happen to me once but it was a xbox game or something, parents were like LOL shouldn't have left it out! Went batshit insane, they payed for it. No, I mean in the last three weeks I've started RUNNING several miles a day and my knees hurt like a motherfucker all the time. I think I'll cut down to 3 days a week, lifting on the off days for a while, and gradually up it instead of jumping to forcing myself through 5 miles like I have been doing for the last month.

No, I graduated college already. I'm going to the gym every day after work (7-4) and on saturdays.

I'm running on a treadmill in running shoes I bought. Good ones. I feel I must do three miles a day or it isn't worth it. so I've been buidling up so I can run at a fast pace for 15 minutes straight and the pain in my knees makes it hard to walk, or stand after sitting.

I'm thinking either I'm overdoing it, I should switch to swimming, or there's something wrong with my knees.

And all of this is on a treadmill. Tracking my distance and time is one of the most fun parts for me. I love being able to run a little faster than the day before for a little bit longer of a time. That little progress keeps me going.

for the past month I've been focusing entirely on cardio and I'm just now starting to add lifting weights into the routine after coming here.

Before I would have been content with just being able to run and cutting BF%

You guys have inspired me to want to actually work out and build muscle and tone.

I was worried at first because I have had a couple knee surguries in my lifetime, but I honestly think I'm just doing too much too fast.

I think a lower-impact exercise might help. Swimming a good alternative? I just don't really understand how to build up a sweat or my heart rate while swimming.

Running is a huge strain on your knees, especially if you're overweight.
If you have access to a pool or anything, swimming is better for your joints.
If you swim fast you get nice shoulders too.

But srs, if you've had knee surgery, you can't just assume things are ok. Even if you think you just went a little fast, you can't assume you didn't damage something.

If you don't have insurance, go to a clinic, and just have them take a look at it. If you do have insurance, you've got no excuse.

And really, early detection is the best way to take care of knee cancer.

I'll start using the elipticals more. I just really, REALLY prefer running.

Only reason I haven't started swimming already is because my only swimsuit is like a 40 inch waist and I have to pull the drawstings to ridiculous levels to get it to not fall down, and even then it slips down and I usually end up flashing pubes to everybody in the vicinity.

I'll buy a new swimsuit tomorrow.

I was going to take a day off working out today to recover, but I've been going to the gym with this cardio bunny and fuck if I'm going to miss watching dat ass use an eliptical.

If you're still exercising and eating right, and you've incorporated lifting, some of that may be muscle. Probably not most of it, but some of it.

What you need to do is get yourself a set of bodyfat calipers. You can get good-enough ones for a few dollars on amazon. This way, you can actually understand what your body is doing - are you gaining muscle and losing fat? Is it the opposite? You need to know.

This is a mid-game tool, and it sounds like you need it.

Also, just like losing fat, you'll tend to see the most drastic results when you first start to lift. It's not hard to double your muscle mass when you have babby arms.
