Gather round children and I'll tell the tale of my fat ex wife. She started out skinny fat at 120 lbs. she gradually expanded to 180, then to the point where I wasn't allowed to be in the room when she was weighing herself. Then we reached a pout where knowing her weight was demoralizing her and she threw out the scale. Never mind that I was also chubby but still interested in keeping track of my fat to keep it in check.
She develops back problems and hops from doctor to doctor until she finds one that says her weight isn't the cause of her problem.
I start working out and she gets all emo on me about not spending time with her.
Me:"you can come to the gym too."
Her: "my back hurts too much. Let's just sit on the couch and cuddle"

I threw away so may years on that couch next to that ginger ham beast.

Now tht I'm free I work out daily, toned and happy. En route to otter mode.

It's about a 70-30 split at the place I work. There's definitely an undercurrent of "sell people more food they don't need," but it's redundant more often than not. It's not uncommon to bag up a three pound "side" salad that is at least 50% cheese and a witch's brew of the fattiest dressings available. It's even worse because there are just as many regulars who come in and do right by their bodies.

It's especially upsetting when one of these people pulls me into a conversation, and I have to bite my tongue when they start talking about how 'lucky' I am to be skinny (escaping skinnyfat mode, actually) and how I don't need to work out (on the uni rowing team).

I'm not thinner than you because I was born that way. I just made enough good food choices that I didn't have a double chin.

I have mild autism and if there is one thing I can't do, its put myself in someone's shoes, if I ever caught myself saying this kind of thing to somebody as an excuse I would retract it and apologize. I have been told by other people who watch me do things that I act as if I don't have any feeling, I lean on stoves, slam my whole body in door frames, hit my head on nearly everything, but I have no way of actually knowing if my pain is actually less bad than anyone elses, this bitch basically just proved herself wrong by saying that it feels as if it is bad enough to put somebody in a wheelchair, but not here of course, the only person who could ever actually feel it, and the only person who could ever check.

My Mum lost 35lbs in about 3 months by doing sewing in the evening instead of snacking. Obviously it requires a fair amount of effort to change a habit but if you replace eating shitty food with something instead of just cutting it out it's easier.

The key word is try. I don't know if she expected me to try and hit on her or what, but I can guarantee that didn't go how she planned it. There's actually a huge timespan where she just kept messaging me "Hey" and I wouldn't respond. And the conversations before that would be one word from me and a paragraph on her part. I was a bit of a dick to be honest. If this makes her feel better, I say let her go for it. It's not like I'm missing anything. I'm slamming sevens regularly.

People like this make Greek life suck. I'm in a fraternity, but I don't act like it makes me better than anyone. But slap a fat girl in a sorority, and oh lawdy. They think a set of letters magically takes off 50lbs and fixes their busted faces. It's almost funny.

Two of my best friends are obese women. One is making an effort to get healthy and she gets all my respect.

I do however have a problem when fat people make excuses for themselves and expect society to accommodate their unhealthy choices. Or when they make pigs of themselves and do things like declare a rule that allows them to eat off the floor at a fog show.
