>>12239907You just have to go man.
I used to have a terrible fear of the gym too.
So many people their who know what they're doing, are better looking than me, with all their friends, talking about people behind their backs and what-not.
But it's not like that, at all, the first time I went to the gym by myself I was so self conscious(?) that people were going to talk about me that I couldn't concentrate on my work out and I kept looking around to see if people were staring at me.
After four or five times you really start to loosen up, meet people, make friends, and once your friendly with the people at the counter and alot of the regulars, you can't fucking wait to go back, it's like the place you'll start thinking about to go to when you need time to yourself, or to think, or to just go lift a little and see your bros.
People goto the gym because they're worried about how they look too, I'v never met a single person before who was even slightly critical of someone who looked like they were trying to legitimately improve themselves.
In fact, it's almost the opposite, if someone were immature enough to make fun of a fat person (again, who was actually trying, not walking the treadmill for 15 min on 1.25) then no one likes them and they usually stop going because no one wants to work out with them anyways.
So my best advice to you is, just fucking do it man; It might be a little scary at first, but as long as you keep going and don't give a fuck what other people think or say, others will notice and thats how you make friends.
