>>13144552Actuarial is good, don't worry about your degree. Got a guy from LSE who did a similar course followed by a masters in finance or something.
I wouldn't worry about your uni, it's going to have a disadvantage behind Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, LSE and UCL - but it's definitely respectable. Don't let anybody tell you that all degrees are equal. Those are the five we look out for, then it's just names of places we recognise (St Andrews, Kings, Durham - places like that) unless it's a first class degree or a 2:1 with an amazing statement.
I recognise yours, might have had an intern or something a couple of years ago.. not sure.
You're too late for summer internships. Just find anywhere that's taking applications and apply. Ask for feedback regardless of the outcome. Learn from it. Find postgrad internships - contact businesses to see if they'll offer experience in accounts or something relevant if you can't find anything. If you can get the money saved or find a relative to live with you could always work a month for free - but definitely try to avoid being taken advantage of, or getting a raw deal.
Send out letters. Nobody minds if you ask. Nobody's going to pass your name around and say "this kid's trying really hard to contribute to society - for goodness sake don't let him!"
It's something valuable and shows you don't need to be spoon fed.
Leave CVs everywhere relevant and apply whenever you see anything you can apply for.
You can do it.
To keep this /fit/ related, it's like you've just finished SS. Well done, but go do your research and get a good five day split going.
Ain't no thing but a chicken wing.
I'm getting too old for this shit.
