Newb fatass here.

Not sure what to trust here.

I have a scale that measures body fat % and it says 57.8%.

Went to verify that online, and calculator says 35.16% (Fat Weight: 108.6lbs / Lean Weight 200.4lbs)

What to trust?

High 30's.

Find BMR, multiply by 1.5. Subtract 500-750. Work ass off 3 times a week in the gym with heavy compounds. Optional cardio on off days but you wouldn't handle that intensity.

Get a personal trainer!!! can't stress on how important that is for a newb. And if I were you I would fuck cardio and go for lifting - squats dead lifts lunges FTW...but thats your trainer's job...

BF% is going to be widely varied from measurement to measurement because they were designed for the 18-30 range, and you are above that.
